2022 Black Climate Exchange - Hosted by 40 Acre Conservation League

Recognizing heroes at the intersection of climate change mitigation, land justice and recreational justice.

The 40 Acre Conservation League is hosting its inaugural 2022 Black Climate Exchange to facilitate discussions concerning the intersection of environmentalism through a Black perspective.

We have posited that the modern environmental movement cannot ignore the racial wealth gaps that exist in this country, in relation to land ownership, if this movement is going to achieve the level of inclusiveness necessary to accelerate our myriad climate goals: Reducing carbon emissions, preserving and enhancing biodiversity, promoting sustainable agricultural practices, etc...

Our discussion will include conversations with some of the leading thinkers in this space about Black land loss, land justice, economic justice through working lands, and recreational justice.

We look forward to contributing to the development of a more robust and inclusive environmental movement that aligns our environmental goals with our goals of greater equity in the Great Outdoors.
