Come join Black Surf Santa Cruz and Outrigger Santa Cruz for a Recreational Paddle in a beautiful outrigger canoe along our Monterey Bay! An outrigger canoe is a type of canoe featuring one or more lateral support floats known as outriggers which are fastened to one or both sides of the main hull. It takes six people pulling together to move a canoe.

Join us as we paddle in the safety of the Santa Cruz Small Boat Harbor when appropriate, and — weather, conditions, and crew abilities permitting — in the Monterey Bay, where ocean conditions are varied, challenging, and beautiful. Come meet other Black Surf Santa Cruz members and join us for a fun and social way to get fit on the Monterey Bay.

4:00-5:00 - Check-In and Intro to Outrigger Canoeing

5:00-6:00 - Canoeing in Harbor or in the Monterey Bay (weather and tide permitting)

6:00-7:00 - Optional social hour to include light apps and beverages
